WAMP Award Winner: Brandon Meats and Sausage

Brandon Meats and Sausage owners Alan and Janet Feucht purchased the Menke Processing Plant in Brandon, Wisconsin, on May 1, 1985. T first they just continued to slaughter and process beef, hogs, lambs, and deer. Soon though, they added long time sausage maker Lloyd Weisnicht to the team and began retail sales as well as processing. Soon they were expanding, adding new smokers and coolers and eventually building an addition to the existing plant to house the retail store and cutting room, which now houses over 40 feet of retail meat case. They continue to slaughter and process for farmers and hunters and in 2007 they produced over 200, 000 pounds of venison sausage plus other varieties of wild game! Brandon Meats and Sausage is also highly active in the community, supporting 4-H and FFA activities as well as producing their famous Five Foot Summer Sausage which they donate to organizations to use in fundraisers. At this year’s WAMP Brandon Meats took home 2 Grand Champion awards for their Bacon & Cheddar Potato Sausage and their Pepper Bacon. They also received 2 Reserve Grand Champion, 3 Champion and 1 Reserve Champion Awards. Brandon Meats and Sausage is located at 117 South Commercial St., Brandon, WI 53919.
